Cam Island is a handy little app for Android users who want to do more with the space around their camera cutout. It puts things like notifications, music controls, weather, and app shortcuts in one spot, so you don’t have to keep opening different apps just to check something quickly.
What makes it interesting is that you can set it up the way you like. There are different themes to choose from, including dark, pastel, and glass styles. You can also change the animations, layout, and gestures, so the island doesn’t have to look the same on every phone. It takes a bit of playing around to find a setup that suits you.
Key features:
- Smart Notifications: See incoming alerts and keep the important ones easy to find.
- Media Controls: Play or pause music, adjust volume, and check album artwork.
- Cam Search: Search for apps, contacts, and phone settings from the camera area.
- Live Weather: Add animated weather effects to the island.
- Quick Shortcuts: Get to your favorite apps and settings with fewer taps.
- Action Stacks: Group actions together for driving, work, night mode, and other situations.
- Theme Packs: Pick a style and adjust the appearance to match your home screen.
Cam Island is still in its early release, so some features may change as the app gets updated. Still, if you like trying new Android tweaks instead of keeping the standard look, this is one you might want to try.
