Block Spam and Unwanted Calls
The blacklist is one of the main features in ACR Phone. It works offline, so you can create your own list of numbers instead of depending on an online spam database.
You can add a number to the blacklist from the call log, from your contacts or by entering it manually. There are also different matching rules, including Exact and Relaxed matching, so you can decide how the blocking should work.
Blacklist rules can also be scheduled for individual numbers. This gives you a little more control when you only want certain calls blocked at specific times.
Call Announcer and Call Notes
ACR Phone can announce the name or number of an incoming caller, which can be useful when you cannot look at the screen right away. It also has options for announcing calls when headphones or a Bluetooth headset are connected.
Another small feature is call notes. You can add a note or reminder during a call or after the call has ended. This can be handy when someone gives you information during a conversation and you do not want to forget it later.
These features are quite simple, but they can make the phone app more useful for everyday calls.
Customize Your Calling Screen
The calling screen can be changed for individual contacts. You can choose a photo or video to show on the screen when that person calls you.
To set it up, you can go to the contacts section, open a contact and choose the ringing screen. Different contacts can have different pictures or videos, so the incoming call screen does not have to look the same every time.
It is mostly a customization feature, but it is nice to have when you want to recognize a caller quickly.
Call Recording and SIP Calls
On supported devices, ACR Phone can record phone calls using its built-in call recording features. The recordings can also be uploaded automatically to supported cloud services, your own web server or an FTP server.
The app also includes a SIP client on supported devices. This lets you make and receive VoIP calls over Wi-Fi or mobile data without needing a separate SIP app.
These features depend on your device and setup, so not every phone will support everything in the same way.
Auto Dialer and Visual Voicemail
The auto dialer can keep calling a busy number automatically until the call goes through. This can save you from repeatedly pressing the call button when you are trying to reach a line that is always busy.
Visual voicemail is available too, allowing you to listen to new voicemails directly from ACR Phone instead of opening another phone app.
There is also a backup option for exporting and importing call logs, contacts and the call blocking database. Some parts of the backup system are still partially implemented, so the available options may depend on the current version.
